Cynegetic is a recruitment and headhunting agency specialising in the insurance/financial services, construction and industrial sectors, as well as in the search for executives.
Our general manager Mathieu Félix Larouche founded Cynegetic in the spring of 2020. After a variety of discouraging experiences related to sourcing talent, he realized there was an urgent need for fresh ideas in the recruitment field. Too often, square pegs were put into round holes just for the sake of filling a position. There had to be a better way. Mathieu decided to launch an agency that would revitalize the way recruitment is done.
Our approach at Cynegetic is impassioned and simple: we focus on the “human” aspect of human resources. A job is much more than a list of qualifications; a candidate is much more than the bullet points on their CV. To identify and place talent, we believe you have to meet people face to face, talk with them, listen and share. That’s how we determine a company’s real needs or a candidate’s key characteristics.
At Cynegetic, we don’t see employers as suppliers and employees as resources. We treat them all as people first and foremost. For us, it’s the only way to match outstanding talent with the right employer and optimize performance. A native of Montreal, I was raised by artistic parents with music, books, theatre and dance all around me. A variety of often disappointing job experiences made me realize that there was an urgent need for fresh ideas in the world of employment. In 2020, I decided to channel my energy, imagination, independent thinking and integrity into an initiative based on a humanist approach: the launch of Cynegetic, a recruitment agency that doesn't view employers as suppliers or employees as tools, but instead treats them as people.
I'm an arts patron and volunteer for L'Arche-Montréal, and I believe that work is more than just work: it's a reflection of who we are.

In 2022, Mathieu Félix's invitation to join the firm as a co-owner was a natural fit. The world of recruitment, with its myriad facets, deeply resonates with my values. Driven by both business and charitable endeavours, I view assistance and self-improvement as fundamental tenets of my being. My journey, shaped by experience in the insurance and healthcare sectors, has allowed me to traverse two realms: one of fierce competition and another where humanity prevails. Channeling my energy into bridging the gap between employers and new team members is a boundless source of satisfaction. As a central figure in individuals' career trajectories, I am dedicated to advancing companies by furnishing them with teams that mirror their ethos.
